By Amy Wright | Apr 10, 2018

You don’t have to be a mathematician to figure out that happy employees equals more productivity which in turn, equals higher profits. The math is simple. And the solution is creating an inviting and positive workplace culture. Art has been proven to be an excellent way to cultivate an inspired work environment. A well designed and aesthetically pleasing work environment has been known to foster positive moods, increase productivity, stimulate creative thinking, elevate a collective team identity and communicate a company's message.

To understand how art affects people in an office setting, we surveyed professionals on LinkedIn. Discover the survey results, see the stats and learn more about how office art is proven to help employees feel more connected to their organization in the infographic below.

The numbers don’t lie

Who knew that a quick and effective way to increase employee performance and productivity was simply by displaying art in the workplace. According to Forbes, research done at Exeter University’s School of Psychology showed that people working in enriched spaces (decorated with art or plants) were 17% (and even up to 30% according to other similar studies) more productive than those in lean spaces (not decorated with art). This is correlated to the fact that art boosts positive emotions and elevates team cohesiveness.

A collaboration of the Business Committee for the Arts and the International Association for Professional Art Advisors found that art in the workplace helps businesses address key challenges such as reducing stress (78% agree), increasing creativity (64% agreed) and encouraging expression of opinions (77% agreed).

Our Linked in Survey also showed that 99% of North American Professionals enjoy having art in their workplace.

Art communicates your company’s message

Did you know that 36% of workers can’t recite their company’s values and 39% don’t know their own mission statement? This blew our minds too.
